Beginning to play piano for the first time can sometimes be daunting. There are many notes and we only have so many fingers…Best thing to do is to start small and go slow.
If you’re reading this, you’ve probably already accessed YouTube or an online demonstration that indicates where middle C is etc. Middle C is so called because it’s right in the middle of the piano keyboard; it also connects and centers the right and left sides (bright and dark tones of the piano).
The very first piece included here starts by working the right hand on its own. The very first note used is Middle C. No sharps or flats are included in these pieces and you wont find them in any music designed to help beginners, as simplicity is needed.

Nice to know/fun fact: your brain is now on fire 🙂 As well as processing the music reading horizontally and vertically, your brain is simultaneously determining the duration of all notes in time and what direction they are taking. As you get used to where your fingers are going, you’ll develop the skill of ‘reading ahead’ of what youre playing. Thats partly what gives the music flow.
If its any consolation, your lobe will be all the stronger for it. Science has discovered that pianists have extremely efficient connections between the different parts of the frontal lobe compared with non-musicians.
So its official.
